Solving Conflict Through Cooperation for the last 20 years.

What we do.

What is Mediation?

Mediation is a voluntary process that empowers individuals to have a role resolving their own conflicts outside of Court. Although a Court may order parties to attend mediation, it is up to the parties to create a settlement that works for their unique situation. The mediator is a neutral and will not judge your case, take sides, nor offer legal advice. Mediation is a confidential process.

We provide affordable professional mediation services for a variety of disputes, by partnering with trained Rule 31 mediators who are paid through a sliding scale. We also offer grant-funded mediations for qualified indigent participants. The Mediation Center also offers professional mediation trainings, continuing education seminars, four-hour court approved Co-Parenting classes, and court ordered Parent/Juvenile Vaping Class.

Rule 31

We partner with certified Family & Civil Rule 31 mediators to conduct mediations under a sliding scale fee based on each individual’s verified income. These mediators help resolve Family conflicts ranging primarily involving Divorcing or Separating parents, creating or modifying Parenting plans, as well as Civil matters such as Landlord-Tenant, Business, Estate, Property or other disputes currently in or out of Court.

Pro-Bono Mediations

Our Center receives funding from the Administrative Office of the Courts, and other grantors, to provide free mediations to low income parties found “indigent” by the Court.

Programs for Youth

Victim Offender Reconciliation Program allows our Center to receive referrals from Juvenile Courts to conduct mediations with young offenders & their victims to avoid further action in Court, find a peaceful resolution & promote restorative justice in our community’s youth.

Our VORP Program is set up to provide referrals from SRO’s, teachers, parents and other community professional's.

Mediation gives our youth a chance to discuss the matter with a neutral party, see impacts of their behavior, “own” the problem and be a part of the solution.

Parenting Classes

Co-Parenting Classes:

The Mediation Center proudly offers Co-Parenting classes which are court approved for the 17th, 21st & 22nd Judicial Districts in Southern Middle Tennessee. This Nationally recognized curriculum, developed by Families First, is a one-time 4 hour class focusing on children and how separating parents can approach and help transition their children towards a new co-parenting relationship, while minimizing the conflict. Please call our office to Pre-register for more details or class schedule.

Parent/Juvenile Vaping Class:

The mediation center will be starting this new class in the fall of 2022. Due to the increasing under age use of vaping we have partnered with the Juvenile Court systems to provide educational information to both juveniles and their parents about the dangers of vaping. This class is aimed to reduce the usage of underage vaping. Please call our office to Pre-register for more details or class schedule.
